Independent local support for victims of Anti-Social Behaviour

For support with mediation, and if you are suffering hate crime, there is a charity called Smile Mediation operating across Lancashire.  See their website for more information.

For anti-social behaviour, there is a strong network of multi-agency working within the region.  For example, in Burnley there is a monthly ASBRAC (Anti Social Behaviour Risk Assessment Conference) to review all high risk cases (or any cases referred in by the partners) which is attended by the council, the police, the NHS Mental health service, the local Registered Social Landlord, Victims Voice and SMILE mediation. There is also a monthly MATAC (Multi Agency Tasking and Commissioning) group which has a wider membership and deals with the more geographical ASB issues.

There are also regular meetings between all the Lancashire secondary tier council ASB leads to ensure that there is some consistency across the county, this is also attended by a police Inspector and the PCC’s office.

You can always self-refer to Victim Support for local support and advice by calling 0808 1689 111.
